Ramos hopes Barcelona stay in La Liga
Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos is hoping Barcelona stay in the La Liga competition.
Catalonia has just announced its independence, and is certain to split from Spain. Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy sacked the governor of Catalonia, on charges of insurrection and misuse of government funds, to be imposed on the governor.
For now, Barcelona’s situation in La Liga is not under threat, but in the long run it is wide open, and Ramos hopes his rival team can stay at La Liga.
“It’s hard to imagine La Liga without Barcelona,” the Spanish defender told the media.
“I want to see Barcelona stay in La Liga, and not see anything has changed. The situation in Spain makes me hurt, because I think if we were together we would be stronger. I am hurt because this image is shown Spain to the whole world. ”
“But I am more worried to hear our national anthem lose the lyrics, than the situation in Catalonia.”
