Gameiro is confident of his future at Atletico

Kevin Gameiro explains he is reluctant to think about his future at Atletico Madrid and about the time can play on the main squad.

The French-born player, who scored the winning goal at Celta Vigo on Sunday, is rumored to be sold by Los Rojiblancos due to the arrival of Diego Costa in January.

“I was at a great club with a lot of competition to get places,” Gameiro told reporters who met him.

“Everybody has to compete to show the best performance to get the main place at the club and I’m not worried about it at the moment, I’m not afraid.”

“Right now I just need to do the job with the utmost to make sure I’m at the top, then I can think of all my interests.”

Gameiro has scored 17 goals in 50 appearances for Diego Simeone’s side since his transfer from Sevilla in August 2016 to cost about 32 million Euros and some additions up to a total of 40 million Euros.
